Kane Property Services (KPS) were engaged to undertake early investigation works to develop a defined scope and budget for the heritage slate re-roof project for Wesley Mission. Initial works included access and investigation to specific areas of the roof to confirm material types and to explore existing structural conditions and connection details. From here, KPS tendered the project to a range of subcontractors and provide a cost plan and lump sum price to the client in an ‘open book’ approach.

The client proceeded with the works which were undertaken over a tight time period, to minimise disruption to the daily activities of the church. During construction, it was discovered that further areas of the internal heritage listed structure was in need to urgent attention, which KPS undertook in conjunction with the consultant team and heritage architect. This work was completed with minimal interruption, but did require short term closure of the church. During this work, a last minute event had to be held, which required all internal scaffold to be removed for 2 days, and reinstated after the event to continue works.

The client was extremely pleased with the outcome of the project, and communication KPS provided throughout the works.
